The best rejoice in our childhood is to go for vacation to our natives. The best thing for the kids in the cities is to go for the countryside for vacation. There are many things in the natives which attracts us and make us to come again and again that's may be a villagewood friend, the love for grand parents , the enjoyment of roaming in the fields and muds there are many things. In my childhood every year i go to my uncle home in madurai for vacation and visit to my grand parents also. There are lot things attracted me but there was a wonderful thing which makes me joy bu seeing itself was vaigai with a flow of water. By seeing the river with a flow of water and the sunrays on it makes me feel that it was something more than a rejoice.
There are lot of civilizations and kingdoms flourished on the banks of rivers. In the banks of vaigai madurai flourished not only madurai but also other places. There are lot of people who ruled and lived on madurai are not in our memory but the river vaigai which indicated in sangam literature who is flowing silently with our joy and sorrows. We may forgot the people but we can't forgot the river which we share an emotional touch it suits for all rivers.
Vaigai saved and served us for many centuries. But what we have done to her we used her resources without recharge it. we plunder her sands for our commercial use. we use her as a dump for our sewage. But still she loves us by giving water when there is a rain. But nowdays she is disappearing slowly her water basement lands are vandalising her banks are turning into concrete buildings as a people which we groomed by her we have to do something for her welfare.
